...............Every aircraft is equipped with a slide/raft. This picture is a slide/raft of a B747 aircraft. It weighs 89.8 kg. It is 13.95m long and 9.8m high. In case of an emergency evacuation, all passengers are supposed to escape through this slide/raft. A slide is used for ground evacuation, and a raft is used for ditching. It can carry maximum 75 people when it is used as a raft. There are several ways to slide safely. First, your arms should be up. Second, sit upright and don’t lie down on the slide/raft. Third, keep looking at the spot where you’ll touch down. A slide/raft is very important and useful equipment that can save your life.

I am a witness of Asiana's evacutaion evaluation for Government approval. Within 90(?)seconds, all passengers should be escaped from the aircraft. Recently, I realized the purpose of the Cabin Crew, it was not for the cabin service like meal, but for the safety in case of emergency situation.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that even though there's a lot of responisibility related to your job, it must be fun sliding down the slide when ever you get a chance. It's an adult gymnasium!!!
