Assignment 8 - A slide/raft

...............Every aircraft is equipped with a slide/raft. This picture is a slide/raft of a B747 aircraft. It weighs 89.8 kg. It is 13.95m long and 9.8m high. In case of an emergency evacuation, all passengers are supposed to escape through this slide/raft. A slide is used for ground evacuation, and a raft is used for ditching. It can carry maximum 75 people when it is used as a raft. There are several ways to slide safely. First, your arms should be up. Second, sit upright and don’t lie down on the slide/raft. Third, keep looking at the spot where you’ll touch down. A slide/raft is very important and useful equipment that can save your life.

  1. I am a witness of Asiana's evacutaion evaluation for Government approval. Within 90(?)seconds, all passengers should be escaped from the aircraft. Recently, I realized the purpose of the Cabin Crew, it was not for the cabin service like meal, but for the safety in case of emergency situation.

  2. I have to say that even though there's a lot of responisibility related to your job, it must be fun sliding down the slide when ever you get a chance. It's an adult gymnasium!!!
